Frequently Asked Questions

  • Weller Counseling does not currently contract with any health insurance plans (including Medicare). If your health insurance plan offers “out-of-network” benefits, we can provide you with a specialized receipt (called a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please know that not all insurance plans offer reimbursement for out-of-network providers, and some plans may have a deductible or an allowable amount. It is recommended that you call the customer service number on the back of your card to speak to a representative for details about your specific plan.

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and HSA credit cards. For in-person services, we also accept cash and checks.

  • Telehealth and in-person sessions are available.

  • I follow current CDC recommendations related to communicable illnesses. If you are not feeling well or have concerns about potential exposure to viruses, I would request that you reschedule your in-person session or move it to telehealth. I will do the same. I am happy to answer any questions you have about ways to stay safe during our sessions together, and am always open to reasonable accommodations that will help you feel safe with regard to your health and well-being.

  • During the first session, we will go over the paperwork you filled out, and discuss any questions you have for me. I will have questions for you, too! We will talk about what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and ways to help you meet your goals.

  • Absolutely! People often get nervous when they think about meeting with a therapist. It’s not easy to talk about struggles and uncomfortable feelings, and it’s even harder to talk about them with a stranger. Be assured that my primary concern is to create a supportive environment, so that you can explore your experiences and feelings freely, without fear of judgment.

  • That is a great question! Having a connected relationship with your therapist is incredibly important, and my goal is make sure you sync up with someone who feels like a good fit. During our free phone consultation, you will probably have a gut feeling about how well we would work together. I encourage you to trust your gut! I also invite you to ask me any questions that will help you make an informed decision about your therapy experience.
